G&P Visit

My grandparents who are from California took a road trip across the country. We had the privilege of them stopping by our place. They arrived on a Saturday night and had dinner. We woke up Sunday and went to church. After church we drove past their old house that they lived in while my grandpa was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. It's crazy with how many different places they have lived they still knew exactly where it was.
Well that night by grandpa had a really bad pain in the back of his leg, so bad he could barely walk. I just felt like we needed to go to the hospital just to get things checked out. I thought it was a blood clot. So we get to the hospital around 8:30. (It's a good thing the hospital is by Jared's school so I knew right where to go..) Finally at 2am they determined that he had 2 blood clots one superficial and one very deep. Not Good. So by 3 am they decided they want to keep him overnight. So it was a long night. So when 7am came around and Hallee was ready to play and I was beyond exhausted! Anyway Tuesday they finally released them. It was a bummer that they spent most of the time here in the hospital but also a blessing that they were here with us. My grama had a place to stay and he was getting the best care at the Naval Medical Hospital.
Hallee warmed right up to them..It took her a couple of hours but then she was fine.
Hanging out at the hospital..Jared's already making her do push-ups :)
They just adore Hallee! They think she is the cutest baby. I have to agree with them!!
They were suppose to leave our place and continue on down the coast into Florida, but they felt it was best to go back home. It took them about a week to get back home. I'm so glad they were able to come and see where we live and what our lives are like. It was so fun to have them here!
*We love visitors and there is SO much to do around here!!

9 months

I can't believe Hallee is 9 months! She has changed so much this past month. She started crawling and pulling herself up on everything! I can no longer leave things on the couch or table or else she will make sure and sweep off everything on there. She is definitely a busy baby.

She loves this princess dress that my grama sent her! She loves it. It was so cute the first time I put it on her she had this huge smile!

We were able to go the American History Museum. Its just quick ride on the Metro. We were able to see all the first lady dresses and many other things.

She has started giving this chessy smile when I pull the camera out! I think its adorable!

Grayson is so cute with Hallee. He always runs up and gives her a hug and a kiss! He is such a cute little boy! Hallee loves Grayson she gets so excited when she sees him.
We also went to the zoo with some girls from our ward! It was so fun and its even free!
Hallee on the move..Crawling!

I took her to the doctor for her 9 month check up. It was the first time to our new doctor and he was super nice! Hallee definitely didn't like him touching her.
Her stats:
Weight: 20lbs 9 ounces-80%
Height: 28 inches-92%
Head: 18 inches-96%
She has only gained 9 ounces since her 6 month check-up I think its because of how active she has become!

Our New Home

Well since I haven't quite got our place put together, here is a picture of the outside of our place. We are on the top which has its pros and cons. I love being up that high then nobody can break in, not as many bugs, and we don't have neighbors that we can hear. I do hate walking up all those stairs- 41 to be exact. Don't worry I have counted almost every time. I guess its a great workout bringing Hallee up those stairs.
I really do love living here. The place is super nice. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, all hardwood- which is nice and not so nice. Very big! I love it!! There are two playgrounds, a workout center, a little school for kids. We haven't really met any of our neighbors they aren't on the friendly side, but we have 3 families out of 240 that are in our ward!

It's kind of funny these signs are everywhere!! Jared and I have wondered why they just don't say bump..but we think its pretty funny!

So it's quite the culture shock for me to live outside of Utah, but I think I have adjusted pretty well! Here are some random things that I have noticed that are different than Utah.
Random Things about Maryland
*Not everyone is Mormon. Our ward is a 20 mile radius and I think 3 different cities are in our ward-which is crazy to me!
*There is traffic at all times of the day! SO ANNOYING!! When I mean traffic, it is like a parking lot on the beltway. There are just so many people here. More than likely you are stuck at a light for more than one light!
*If you are on the beltway during traffic most people just start using the emergency lane as a lane..which drives me CRAZY!!
*People think Utah drivers are bad... Maryland/D.C drivers are worse! You really have to be paying attention at all times!!
*The Target is in the mall which is just weird to me and it's not as nice as the one in Utah.
*I have never seen so many different license plates in my life. We live in Military housing so that is why but still it's crazy! I think there is only 1 other Utah car.
*All shopping carts for grocery stores are on the outside of the store. Which makes it nice when I haul Hallee in her car seat into the store-- only to find no carts and you have to walk around to the other side to get out! NOT!!
*They put milk in a grocery bag.
*It is so HUMID here sometimes. I feel like a need to shower after I go outside just to walk to my car.
* I never know which direction I'm going. There are a million trees everywhere!! I miss the mountains.
*They don't have sprinkling systems here..which is just weird. I'm use to living in the desert.
* They have the weirdest sounding bugs and the most crazy looking ones too..which if I do see one like this morning on my kitchen counter, I just drown them in soap til Jared gets home to get rid of them..haha
* We have really nice grass where we live but most other places and parks have crab grass or weeds. People aren't really into their yards here. I miss nice yards and pretty flowers.

I really like it here. Just trying to use to things and finding my way around. I really like our ward. Lots of young couples with 1 or 2 kids that we hang out with. Don't get me wrong- I miss our families and friends but I'm liking this adventure so far.

p.s. Hallee started crawling today!! Its exciting but scary, now I really have to put things higher. She loves to pull herself up on everything. She is definitely going to keep me busy now.

First day of Medical School

Well he survived his first week of medical school. He gets up at 5:30 every morning so he can study an hour before school starts at 7:30 then comes home around 6:30 so his days are very long! There is a ton of information that they are studying. With being in the military there are some more things that they are required to know with have the possibility of working overseas or with wounded soldiers. He is required to wear a uniform everyday.
First day of med school bright and early! Here he is in his blues which he has to wear on Mondays and Wednesdays!

These are his books he will be using for the 1st year. We put Hallee next to them so you can see how many there are! That one towards the bottom is huge!

Here he is in his ABU's what he wears the other days! He has to be clean shaven and short hair. Which I'm happy about no more beards or long hair for 25 years :) He likes school so far but he has just started so we will see if he says that in a couple of months!

Rehoboth Beach

We have made it to Maryland!! I will post about our place soon. But before school started a group of us got together and drove to Delaware to spend a day at the beach. It wasn't too bad of a drive. We got there around 1o am and the beach was already packed. It was hot but a lot of fun! We went with five couples and four out of the five have kids. It was also fun to have my mom come with us.

Atticus, Hallee, and Grayson
These black dots are dolphins! They were swimming so close to us and playing around. It was so cool!
Hallee in her cute swimming suit! Man I just love this little girl!! It was a fun trip I hope to go again with how close we are to the beach!

Family Pictures

Last Sunday we had Kaylee take some family pictures before everyone left. She got some great shots! Funny thing was that cotton was flying around everywhere! It looked like snow.
I love her face in this picture.

She loves to give kisses. Not quite sure she knows that's what she is doing but I love it!
