Halloween 2012

(I'm trying to catch up after I have been slacking for awhile. I was in Utah without Jared which meant no computer. Once we got back to Texas we had to get Jared's computer fixed)

For Halloween the girls and I were in Utah. It was so much fun to be around family. The girls loved it. Before we left our ward had a Halloween party. They had a chili cook off and played games.

Mckenna was so cute, she knew she looked so cute she went around screaming so people would look at her. They would say "oh your so cute" and she would give them this huge smile. She knew what they were saying.
After arriving in Utah, for family night my parents and I went to the pumpkin patch behind their house. There was an actual pumpkin patch where we got to pick the pumpkins straight from the vine. It was fun picking out our pumpkins.
I took this cool picture with my iphone (no filter)

Halloween morning we went to Suzanne's school for a parade. We walked around to all the different classrooms to look at the kids costumes. It was a lot of fun. Hallee got scared a few times with the different costumes. That was the first time Suzanne walked in the parade. The things your grandkids get you to do.

as you can tell Mckenna was done

Later that day we carved pumpkins with Tara and Papa as we waited for Kimberly, Brad, Luke, Grandma, and Grandpa to get there. Once they got there we had pizza and then went trick or treating. The girls loved going from house to house for candy, especially Hallee! (she is her father's daughter)

So happy to be with cousin Luke

crazy grandma and grandpa

(Auntie Tara had dressed up for a witch for Halloween & Hallee told her she was done being a "scary witch")

Hallee did so well going from house to house. We got through my parents neighborhood without getting scared. We ended with my parents next door neighbor and all of the sudden you could hear a blood curddling scream from Hallee. The guy who answered the door was wearing a scary mask. She was so scared. It was sad. I hate when people scare little kids. In all we had a great night! It was so fun to be with family we just missed Jared who was in Maryland for a week of Family Medicine training.
Mckenna was so tired from a fun filled day

Thanksgiving Point

Before getting to Utah I bought a KSL deals for a petting zoo and horse ride. For some reason I thought it was at Thanksgiving Point. My dad took the day off and we picked up Tara on our way down there. We get to Thanksgiving Point and right as we get there Tara noticed the deal was for Gardner Village. Awesome! We just drove all the way down there. I decided since we were already there we would just see the animals there. Hallee was in heaven! She loves all the animals. It was a petting zoo but you couldn't pet them. We were all disappointed. We walked around to see all the animals. Hallee got to go on a horse ride. She loves horses and riding them. She has no fear of them! She is just like her auntie Tara.

Mckenna just loved walking around, it was a beautiful day

Love her to pieces! She is growing up way too fast!

She had a huge smile on her face the whole time. She kept saying yeehah!

We went on a fun hay ride. I love fall in Utah.

We ended our day at Thanksgiving point with lunch. It was such a pretty day. It was the perfect weather. I'm glad my dad and sister could come spend the day with us. The girls loved having them there!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a fun night at the pumpkin patch. We met up with our friends the Dennis'. It's crazy to think that it's fall because here in Texas we are still in the 90's. This pumpkin patch was very different from the ones that we had been to before. It was off the freeway on just a bare lot of grass. They had brought pumpkins in for you to choose from. They had bounce houses, petting zoo, pony rides, and a hay ride. Hallee loved bouncing in the bounce house and petting the animals.

Kenna loved walking around eating the pumpkins and other things she could find on the ground

Mckenna's 1st Birthday

For Mckenna's birthday we had our friends over for Sunday dinner. I made all the Cafe Rio fixings. The food was so good. For her cake I made a big cupcake for everyone to eat and then a little cupcake for Mckenna's smash cake. My good friend Amy helped me the cakes. I'm so glad that we could have our friends, who are like family, celebrate with us!
We ate dinner and let the kids play. It was perfect.

As soon as I put the cupcake on her tray she was ready! She was interested in the candle.

She is the queen of dirty looks, she really wanted to play with the candle.

She wasn't shy at all about eating it. She started out licking the icing and then she picked it up and continued to lick the frosting off. It was so funny!

Hallee kept sneaking licks

Mckenna was diagnosed with a double ear infection the Thursday prior to her birthday but I guess the antibiotic wasn't working so Monday and Tuesday she was still fighting a fever. Her birthday was on a Tuesday.  So we stayed at home and she slept for 5 1/2 hours on her birthday. When Jared got home we ate dinner, Hallee sang 'You've had a birthday' to Mckenna which was so sweet and then we opened presents.

this is how she felt for most of the day. poor baby!!

She was spoiled by her family who loves her dearly
I'm so grateful for my sweet Mckenna. She is such a blessing to our family. She has been such a good baby. I hate how fast kids grow up. I wish time would slow down! I'm so grateful for such great friends that step in as family while we are away!
