Mckenna: 2 months

My sweet baby is already 2 months. She is seriously the best baby. She only cries when she is hungry and when she is hungry, she means business! She is a great sleeper-she isn't sleeping through the night but she does 5-6 hour stretch on occasion.  She puts up with her big sister who loves her and hits her on a regular basis. She coos and smiles all the time. I love it!

Mckenna's 1st month

It makes me so sad how fast babies grow up! I can't believe Mckenna is already a month old. She is a very good baby- she was very gassy at the beginning but has gotten better. She usually eats every 3 hours and sleeps a lot. Just in the last week she started being awake more. She will smile and coo when I talk to her.
I love it!

When we got home from the hospital Jana and Erin had decorated our door and the girls room. These girls made that quilt, bed skirt, and bed sham. They are amazingly talented! It matches perfectly with the crib set. I love it! I'm so lucky to have them as friends!!

My mom came out for 2 1/2 weeks. It was SO nice to have her here. She helped me with so much. Hallee loved having me-ma here! She was her shadow. It was hard to have her leave.

Halloween-3 weeks

1 month

1 month-she definitely has big blue eyes

Love this little lady!!

After my mom left, we were lucky enough to have Jared's mom come out for a week.  It was nice to have her visit and Hallee loved more attention!

At one month Mckenna weighs 9lbs 3 oz. She is in the 16%. I'm having issues producing enough milk for her so we are trying to fix that. She is still so tiny and oh so sweet! I just love having a newborn. Hallee was doing so well with Mckenna. She was always kissing her and occasionally she would act out towards her. In the last week Hallee has become so mean towards Mckenna. She will hit her, and throw things at her. I don't know what to do with Hallee. I know she is jealous and it's hard for her to share me. I have one on one time with Hallee everyday, if not more than once a day, and she still acts out. Being sleep deprived, I'm becoming very frustrated with her. Any ideas please let me know! I want Hallee to love her little sister and maybe it will just take time? I love being a mom- It's a lot of work and sacrifice, but totally worth it! I love these little girls more than anything.

Mckenna Grace

Mckenna Grace
7lbs 4 oz
 21 inches long
10.2.11 @ 1:21pm

Well it all started on Sunday morning. The contractions started at 3 am. I started timing the contractions and they were about 2-4 minutes apart. After an hour of laying there, I decided to wake up Jared. I wanted to labor as much as I could at home, so I decided to get into the tub. We continued timing the contractions. They were anywhere between 1-3 minutes apart. Around 6 am we decided to call labor and delivery. They told me I could come in or I could wait for another hour. We decided to wait until Hallee woke up since the contractions were bearable. We packed the bags and headed to the hospital around 7:00.
We got to the hospital around 7:45am and they put us in a room and monitored me. At 9:30 the resident came in and checked me and I was only at a 4! I was so frustrated. I wanted to try and do this natural and after she told me I was only a 4, I thought there was no way I could do this. She came back around ten and told us we could go walk around for a couple of hours or we could stay here and I would be admitted. We decided to walk around to get things going. Of course once we left L&D, the contractions started. We walked down to the McDonalds to get some breakfast. I had to stop with every contraction. By this point I couldn't talk through the contractions. I couldn't believe how intense the contractions had become. We got back up to L&D around 11. They admitted me at 11:30 and I told them I wanted to epidural. The pain was ridiculous! The nurse started the IV and took some vials of blood and started asking me all these stupid questions. I was in so much pain, trying to get through contractions and laying on your back isn't the most pleasant thing. By this point I still hadn't been checked, I asked how much longer till the epidural and the nurse(who was not the most nice person) said, "you have to finish this bag of fluid and we have to wait till your blood work comes back..." I was so mad! The anesthesiologist came in around 12:45 and placed the epidural. Right as he injected the first round of medicine the doctor came in and said "i think she is ready to push!" She checked me I was at a 9! She broke my water and I started pushing. I pushed for 20 minutes and boom! she was here!
I-felt-everything!
They placed her on my chest and it was the best feeling! We finally got to meet her. Jared cut the cord. They then had to take her away because she had fluid in her lungs and a racing heart. Everything happened a little too fast for her! The only way she would calm down was on my chest. It's crazy how you instantly love them! I couldn't get enough of her!
The epidural didn't have time to kick in. It was the best feeling in the world when she came out! I was so proud of myself for doing it all by myself. I wasn't very happy that the epidural kicked in 30 minutes after I had her.  They didn't move us into postpartum until around 6:30 and my legs were still numb. I was so mad that I didn't get the benefits of the epidural but I was dealing with all of the after effects.
Jared left around 5:00 pm to go pick up Hallee from our friends. She had definitely had it and wanted to see us. Jared brought Hallee into meet her. Hallee held her and kissed her! I was surprised how well she did.
39 weeks-right before we left for the hospital

Our friend Jenny came and took some pictures of us at the hospital. I'm so glad she did. I love them!

My favorite

My amazing aunt drove up the second she heard I was in labor. She was such a lifesaver! She took care of us till my mom was able to fly in!! I'm so grateful for her!

I love her little mouth in this picture

Our first family picture of four

That night I stayed by myself Jared and my aunt went home to get a good nights rest. Jared had class in the morning and that way Tracy could be there for Hallee. She was a lifesaver!!

Jared with his girls!

going home!!

yes I look exhausted!
It was exhausting work to get Miss Mckenna here but so worth it! We all just adore her.  Now I'm just working on balancing a new baby and the energy of Hallee!

Thank you for all your well wishes!

Safari Park

Over Labor day weekend we decided to get away one last time as the three of us. Jared found this Safari park in Virginia so we booked our hotel and went on our way. We left on Friday and came back on Sunday. We had a blast and Hallee was in heaven with all the animals.

With the safari park you drive around in your car over 180 acres and the animals come to your window and eat the food out of your bucket. We got there right when it opened so the animals were hungry and there was hardly anybody there.

The camels know exactly what they want..you start feeding them and then they take the bucket right out of your hand.

Hallee loved holding the bucket and we yell "here's some food" it was so cute!

After you drive around they have a petting zoo that has several animals.

After awhile Hallee needed a nap so we headed back to our hotel. Our first hotel was pretty ghetto. Thanks to my dad for our second night we were able to stay at the Marriott. It was so nice!!
Hallee loves swimming!

After we went swimming we headed back to the Safari park. We drove the 180 acres again. This time around there were a lot more people and different animals. The animals weren't very hungry this time around, but it was still fun to see them again.
hallee loved feeding the goats out of her hand! She was so brave.

she was tuckered out

We had a great time! Jared made a slide show of all the pictures from our trip and Hallee loves to watch it over and over. If anybody comes to Virginia I would highly recommend going.

18 month pictures

My lovely sister took Hallees 18 month pictures when we were back in Utah. I'm just now getting around to posting them. I have been a major blog slacker lately. I hope to be better once I get all caught up.

She has such a cute personality and is so fun! We can't get enough of her!!
