Day 3 of New York

The last day we went to Toys R Us. It was a huge store. There was a ferris wheel and each chair was a different character from a cartoon or movie.  Jared took Hallee and she chose the Toy Story chair. She loved it! Two sections of the store were purely candy. Jared was in heaven. They also had a barbie house that was full of all the different types of barbies and accessories. As a little girl, I would of been in heaven!

We walked down to the M&M store. They had every color and kind of M&M. It was a fun store.

Hallee was a little nervous for the M&M

We walked down to Rockefeller center and hung out around NBC. We went into the NBC experience store. It was a lot of fun to see memorabilia from each show.

We went to FAO Schwartz. It is such a fun kids store! They had a lot of toys from when we were growing up. They had a fun story time that Hallee & Jared read a few books.

Mckenna just hanging out..being an angel

she is seriously the best baby! She was such a good girl during this trip! Just went with the flow.

We walked around a little more, had pizza in Times Square and then got on the bus to head back to MD. We had a wonderful time. It was definitely not relaxing but it was a lot of fun. The girls were awesome. Hallee loved it. The whole way home on the bus she kept saying she wanted to go back to "New Work". We have been so blessed to live in such a great area with so many fun places just a few hours away.

Day 2 of New York

Day 2: we rode the subway down to lower Manhattan. It was such a mess getting on the subway, but once we finally did we arrived at the World Trade Center. My family was in New York in 2004 and it has made a lot of progress since then. They had 2 fountains representing each tower. We were able to find our relatives names. It was a very peaceful feeling there. I'm so glad we were able to go there.

We then walked down to Wall street
We definitely got a lot of stares. It was Jared with two girls and two kids. They probably thought we were a polygamist family :)
Mckenna was an angel on this trip. She wanted to be fed and held occasionally.  I'm so blessed!
We walked to the Brooklyn Bridge it was really pretty. I only walked a little ways because Mckenna needed to eat. So Tara had to walk all the way back so she could see the rest of it. After we walked the bridge. We walked to what was suppose to be a park. I was thinking it would have a play ground so that Hallee could play. Once we got there I was very disappointed. It was just a small walkway with some places to sit. By then we were ready to eat! We went to the Shake Shack! It was a little shack in the middle of a park. It was delicious!

That night Jared and I got to see Mary Poppins. It was awesome! We had great seats. I love seeing shows on broadway. This was Jared's first show and he enjoyed it as well.

I think we ended up walking 8 miles this day. Our feet were definitely hurting!!

New York Day 1

For part of Jared's spring break we decided to go up to New York. It happened to fall on my birthday which was great. We rode a bus up to New York, which was so nice that we didn't have to deal with all the crazy traffic. We got up to New York around 1pm. My lovely dad took care of the hotel for us which was fabulous! We had a great hotel room looking towards the Empire State building. We dropped our stuff off and off we went to explore the busy city!

The view from our hotel room of the Empire State Building

The poor girls lived in the stroller for 3 days. They were troopers!

Time Square is CRAZY!! So many people!!

Time Square

We went to Central Park which was quite a walk from our hotel but it was worth it! They had a playground, bike/running track, lots of open space, and many more cool things! We had an enjoyable afternoon hanging out around the park. We then walked up to the temple which was pretty. You had to look for the Angel Moroni to recognize which building was the temple.

After exploring upper Manhattan, our feet were so tired!! We walked back up to Times Square and had dinner at Bubba Gump's. We then walked back to our hotel and crashed!
Our first day in Manhattan we had walked 5 miles.

National Zoo

We have loved living so close to the zoo and the fact that it's free.  Jared had an afternoon off so we decided to meet the Willardson's at the zoo. The weather was perfect! Tara had just arrived as well so we got to show her the zoo. Hallee loved having Tara and Ben there.

Ben and Hallee had a lot of fun exploring the zoo hand in hand

Mckenna is the best baby, she just hung out in the stroller

Hallee came out of the monkey exhibit very fixated on how smelly the monkeys were. She kept saying "monkeys stinky"

It was the perfect day for the zoo. We had a blast!
We will really miss the Willardson's when we move to Texas.
